Ever since Nexus 5 has been announced on google
Play store, I cannot wait to get my hands on the shiny new device. I was actually on the hunt for a new device and this one seems to be checking all the boxes.
It’s a complete package in the price offered and as usual it is offering everything top of the line for nearly 35% cheaper than what competition is offering in the terms of hardware alone but the real icing on the cake is that in terms of software it trumps every other android device out there.
You get a stock rom with guaranteed updates from the maker itself And also have to waste NO time in removing all the bloat ware that comes with the so called premium devices.
Earlier there was a weakness in the camera section if nexus 4, which seems to have been addressed in this device.
I am so glad that google has decided to launch the phone in India unlike its previous version. And now as #scottsigler says in his GFL books, “the only variable is time”.
Project ARA is doing rounds these days on internet these days. It is a project launched by motorola and is a very interesting one. It truly brings cutomisation to the table in terms of smartphones and can bring the average consumer the option of building their own like a modern PC these days.
But a ambitious project like this need serious interest from the industry. there needs to be certain standards so that its easy for the average joe to assemble his own device. if its too complicated and needs technical expertise i can see a lot of people bricking their devices or not bothering at all because its too cumbersome. So in a way it has to be a closed garden of sorts.
But i hope this project flourishes because it will be a boon for the end user.
Popular twitter handle just tweeted the leaked shot of what looks like a nexus 5 on sprint network.
The side pose of the device is looking amazing and I am really looking forward to it now. Fingers crossed and waiting for an early worldwide launch.
Google shows off Nexus 5 by mistake
In a recent report by gigaom, a video released by google on the launch of KitKat (Nestle) android version 4.4 one can see a google employee taking photos of the new mascot using a Nexus phone. on careful inspection one can see that it built by LG again.
Now this video has been marked private on the youtube channel but it can be seen on the gigaom website. the link has been given below.
APPLE EVENT ON 10th september
I just heard about the news that apple event is taking place on 10th september 2013 as per the rumours.
And i bet i will get to see the much leaked iphone 5c and 5s in champagne colour, but what I am really excited about it is the official version of ios 7. I havent used the beta yet but from the looks of it, it seems to rake care of numerous problems ios was suffering from. Earlier I had to go the jailbreak route to add the functionality in notification centre. Now this has been taken care of.
Once i have the update on my phone i will be posting a detailed review of it. Till then i have my countdown timer on.
TAX PAYER A FOOL ….
All this ruckus in the parliament over food bill is so much noise that it is gross. Policy makers of our country are introducing fiscal burden in the face of huge debt posed by currency devaluation is plain stupid. Just to make sonia gandhi happy so she can woo voters and see her husband’s name glorified at the cost of tax payers is nothing short of criminal. And the icing on the cake is Mr. Chidambram being optimistic in the face of such adversity is the most absurd behaviour being witnessed in the parliament. It i believe is worse than politicians throwing chappals or trying to watch porn in the sanctum sanctorum.
I agree all the citizens of india need food and basic nutrition but this kind if behaviour will give rise to nothing but people expecting free lunches at the cost of people who works hard every day and pay taxes to oil the machine called government. Now you cant expect these tax paying people to stop working at a random day and come out with a dharna or protest on the roads for a right at cost of their livelihood. And make these empty politcos realise that they have a vote too. After all its all about vote bank politics.
I know this irate article from me will not change anything but its time the tax payer takes the matter in their hands and take action.
INDIA RISE …..
Please reblog and share if you like this.
This week two new upcoming devices have really caught my attention and they are the Lumia 625 by Nokia and Moto X by motorola. I feel both the devices are very important for respective ecosystem.
Lumia 625 goes on to show that Nokia is not just sitting down and waiting but rather actively working out to address the needs of all types of customers. WP8 is a compelling ecosystem and it has often been maligned about its lack of apps, but I feel its not the apps there anymore but the lack of devices which Nokia is rapidly trying to fill out. Other than Nokia we have only seen HTC hit the market with good quality hardware and Samsung has only made half hearted attempts so far. Nokia has so many compelling apps of their own which are practically useful and definitely make a case for owning a Nokia device only on the basis of those apps alone. Their mapping solution is world class which is sold in other ecosystems for a substantial price and their music app is another reason, where a customer can save money on purchasing music.
Moto X is a different beast altogether and it will be interesting to see what does Google dish out to counter Samsung which was initially an ally but now its like a big beast that needs to be tamed. Design language seen on Moto X is really appealing as seen by the leaks and the Verizon Droid event but more important is what it brings to the table for google and its customers who are most happy with vanilla android experience and not botched by the custom skins which are far from efficient and are like lazy elephants and has little utility and more gimmick.
Volvo Builds a Different Kind of Hybrid. This technology sounds so amazing and a clear example of how to improve the current technology rather trying out radical ways and create technology that is confusing and expensive to own and operate.
This clearly shows that Volvo engineers are far more practical in their approach as compared to other car companies who are trying to install batteries and other gizmos which maybe green for short term but cause long term hazards to the environment when they comes to an end of their life cycle. We need more companies and engineers who use sustainable technologies.
